About

Hi, I’m Mike Thorpe. I set up Design Chapel nearly 20 years ago and it’s been going strong ever since.

Creativity is at the heart of all I do. I use my technical expertise and my designer’s eye to make your ideas a reality.

I don’t believe in imposing my ideas on you just because I think they look good.

I do believe in developing a good relationship with you, my client, taking the time to understand the uniqueness of your organisation and working together to produce outstanding materials that will help you achieve your goals. That is where my job satisfaction comes from.

But my creativity is no good to anyone without a strong foundation of reliability and commitment to seeing a project through from start to finish. And that is where I really shine.

Over the years I have worked with clients from all sectors: private, public, NGOs, agencies, small and large businesses, local, national and international organisations.

If you want to know more, here’s a potted version of my CV:

After studying graphic design at Liverpool Art School I worked for a not-for-profit organisation in London, then a design agency, then lectured in graphic design before starting up Design Chapel in 1996.

I have been immersed in art and intrigued by design for as long as I can remember. As a child I used to love flicking through those old-style letraset font-design catalogues (which only those over 30 will remember!). I discovered a love of drawing, and when I get the time I still love to paint and sketch.
